Whether you don’t like your new haircut or just want it longer, it can seem like it takes so long to grow out. Mak your hair grow faster with these tips.
Tip #1: Hair Mask
1 egg (Yeah this sounds gross, but the egg has proteins your hair needs. Using hot irons and drying your hair with a towel can strip your hair of these proteins. It is what helps your hair grow faster and healthier! The protein is keratin, and it is what makes up your hair and nails. Your hair is 70% keratin.)
1 tablespoon of coconut oil
1 tablespoon of honey
Whisk together in a small bowl. Massage into your scalp with your hands. Massaging your scalp will stimulate the blood flow and get the egg proteins into the live part of your hair. An increase in blood flow in your scalp can make your hair grow faster. Amp up the results by massaging with your head upside down, which will also increase the blood flow to your scalp. Massage the hair mask into the rest of your hair and let sit until it feels like it’s drying. Or, for maximum results, leave it on and wrap your hair with saran wrap. Sleep with the hair mask on, and wash with shampoo and conditioner when you shower.
Tip #2: Shampooing and Conditioning
Most people focus both shampoo and conditioner everywhere and rinse it out. Instead, concentrate on massaging the shampoo into your scalp. Rinse thoroughly. Do the same with your conditioner.
Tip #3: Lay Off the Heat Tools
Put the blow dryer, curling iron, straightening iron, and any other heat-producing hair tools away. Invest in some overnight hair curlers (the sponge kind) and air-dry your hair. Heat tools strip down the oils and vital nutrients in your hair, which causes damage. Drying your hair with a towel is bad for your hair. The towel has textures that grip your hair, pulls it, and knots it. Save your hair by air-drying it. If you need your hair dry right away, use a t-shirt.
Tip #4: Wash with Apple Cider Vinegar
Try the no poo method – no shampoo, that is. Clean your hair with apple cider vinegar. Apple cider vinegar seals the hair cuticle, causing less breakage. It also works as a natural detangler, and you don’t need to use any conditioner. However, vinegar also removes the extra buildup of oils, so your hair doesn’t seem greasy.
Optional: Add a pretty scent with an essential oil. Dab a little on your fingers and apply to your hair. A little goes a long way. Avoid cinnamon essential oils. A lot of people have adverse reactions that cause burning and red rashes.
