Modella Cosmetic Bag Review

I’ve never had a cosmetic bag for my purse before, but this is pretty cool. The Modella cosmetic bag seemed very small to me at first, but then I started loading it with my essentials: lip gloss, tampons, my Urgent Rx packages, band aids, hair ties, and cough drops. I don’t really wear a lot of make-up on a regular basis, so I didn’t need to pack it full of cosmetics. However, I could add about three times more of the content I have in it.

Pros:

Cute designs
Easy to use
Variety of cosmetic and travel bags
Affordable
Great quality

Cons:

So hard to find online! They have a Facebook page, but that seems to be it.
Modella needs a website, but the bags are sold at Wal-Mart and Walgreens.

Bottom Line:

I’d buy another if needed. It might be a good way to organize my huge bag I lug around!

4 out of 5 stars

Lock and Lock Containers for the Kitchen Review

The Lock&Lock kitchen containers are stackable. The covers do lock into place on all four sides, hence the name. They are microwave, dishwasher and freezer safe. They are made from propylene with micro particles of antimicrobial silver in the propylene. This helps to prevent fungus, mold and other nasty things. They are spill-proof and shatter-proof.

That’s quite a mouthful! I received the Lock&Lock 9-Piece container set, which has three different sizes:  three 4.23-cup containers, three 2.33-cup containers and three 3.39-cup containers. I am blown away by the quality of these kitchen containers. We use them for everything – coffee, sugar, flour, cornstarch, cocoa powder, snacks, deli meats, cheeses, and more. I love that they stack so easily, whether in use or storing in the cabinets. They have a container for everything - cereal, eggs, sausage, sandwiches, bread, ice cubes, sauce, water, and lunch box sets.

Pros: See above!

Cons: None.

Bottom Line: Why don’t you have these already?! Get yours here. I love them so much I became a customer!

Day 1 With No TV

[caption id="attachment_192" align="alignleft" width="150" class=" "]© Can Stock Photo Inc. / blankstock © Can Stock Photo Inc. / blankstock[/caption]

I finally did it. I called Comcast, aka, the Devil, and canceled my TV and phone. We keep losing the connection countless times a day. I can't work like that! I'm a full-time freelance writer, and I cannot have the Internet connection disappearing intermittently throughout the day and night. Since we had the "Triple Play" bundle, we had the phone connected to the modem. Every time we lost the connection we lost the phone. My most recent call was waiting on hold for 30 minutes, finally getting a customer service representative, and then losing the connection 10 minutes into the conversation. Frustrating? Yeah, you could say that.

Another reason for cancelling was the ridiculous cost of cable TV! We will save about $160 a month. That's a week's worth of grocery shopping and then some. That's important when you have a preteen and a teen in the house! Growing children can eat.

I kept the Internet connection, because I need it for work. I had to ask for a new modem, and ask them to send it in a box with a return label so I could send back their shitty modem, remote control, cable box, and cables. I might buy my own modem so I don't have to pay Comcast a monthly rental fee.

The No Cable TV Plan

I have Netflix already, which is just $7.99 per month. I will order Hulu Plus, which is also just $7.99 per month. The plan is to get all of my TV from streaming services like these, and still save a good amount of cash. I'd much rather read anyway.

Day 1 has gone well. I think it's glorious. I love the quiet in the house (normally the TV would be on no matter what). I've also been sick all day - a stomach thing, so most of my time has been spent in the bathroom. On my birthday! Oh well.

I am a bit worried about my hubby because he's such a visual person. He enjoys listening to audio books, but really loves movies and good TV shows. Is he going to be able to handle no TV? I don't know. Stay tuned!
