Changing Fate Through Reincarnation by Gerald Sze Book Review

Changing Fate Through Reincarnation: How the Fusion of Responsibility, Freedom, Karma and Meaning of Life Can Set You Free

4 stars

Verdict: This is a philosophical book that will help you understand your life in the physical, spiritual and ethereal world. With this understanding you can create a better life for yourself now and for your future lives. This book is a journey with numerous lessons in Gerald Sze's spiritual belief system that he has put together through years of incredible research and teachings and shows that anyone can make decisions and take actions toward a better life through fate.

Sze takes us through each part of his philosophies, theories and insights. He finds simple ways to describe the religions and scientific beliefs of several organizations and theories. He has created his own super theory called the New Age Vibrational Model (NAVM), which brings together the beliefs of material science, Buddhist theories and Tao concepts.

While the book is heavily referenced well, Wikipedia is cited as a source in Section Four: Chapter.1 - Fate and Destiny. Wikipedia isn't a good source because anyone can edit the information on this website. All of the other sources are excellent.

It's not a light read by any means. Changing Fate Through Reincarnation meticulously details every part of life (past, present and future ones) and the beliefs and morals we choose to have. Overall, it's a complex book that will bring you deep into the spiritual world. You'll learn all about karma, reincarnation, true freedom, fate, destiny, responsibility, religions, theories, Chi, cause and effect, the law of attraction, Yogacara, no-self, the individual and the collective, Chinese philosophies, culture, human nature, science, environment, education, and so much more.

If you are seeking a way to expand your spirituality, learn about the above named theories and effects, and/or find a way to change your fate through reincarnation you need to grab a copy of Sze's book. Enjoy your journey into the meaning of life.

NovaWhite At Home Teeth Whitening System Review

Effective and harmless teeth whitening systems are a must-have beauty item. As we age our teeth yellow with stains from foods, drinks, and especially if we smoke. I quit smoking in October 2007, but I still get horrible stains, probably from my coffee habit. Plus, my gums have receded a bit exposing the dentin, which is a yellowish color. It shows when I need another whitening session.

NovaWhite sent me an at home teeth whitening system to review. It's definitely different than the strips I am used to using. The 22% NovaWhite GO Kit system comes with a set of three 1.2ml syringes that contain the whitening gel, boil and bite trays to fit to your teeth, and a carrying case. The whitening gel doesn't taste too bad with a bit of a mint taste to it.

This is definitely one of the best whitening kits out there. It removed my stains and whitened my teeth in one treatment. I like that the trays are boil and bite so the whitening gel gets in every crevice. It works well and is easy to use. I highly recommend it!

The Mantry Company: Best Father's Day Gift of 2014

The Mantry CompanyThe Mantry Company's food subscription is this year's Best Father's Day gift! It's known as "the modern man's pantry", and that is an accurate description. The Mantry Company sent me a crate to review. The crate itself is brilliant. Keep it. Put your spices and rubs in it. Great storage that you keep even when the food's all gone. My delivery came while I was out, so my husband opened it. When I got home he had already organized all of his spices (he does all of the delicious cooking in the house) in the crate and put it away. Included in the crate was:

  • Just Cook Herbed Coffee Rub

  • Olive & Sinclair Bourbon Nib Brittle

  • Vermont Smoke & Cure Summer Sausage

  • La Fundidora Fuego Salsa

  • Soberdough Green Chile Cheddar Brew Bread

  • Broadbent's Hickory Smoked Bacon

So far, we've tried two of these. First was the Bourbon Nib Brittle. Wow. It's buttery, sweet and a little tangy with the brilliant chocolate it's coated with. It's absolutely delectable and irresistible. Second, naturally, we tried Broadbent's Hickory Smoked Bacon. My husband baked it in the oven and the smell permeated the house with an intoxicating and saliva-producing scent. Once finished we tried a piece by itself and melted. It melts in your mouth with sweet and salty flavors to die for. It is the best bacon I have ever tasted.

The Mantry isn't named the Best Father's Day gift of 2014 by Geek Chic Reviews due only to the amazing tastes of the food. There's more. The details in the products and how they are packaged are incredible. The care in the details is appreciated. The colors, the packaging of everything, and the presentation of the gift all play into what makes this one the best. It also comes with a custom manual that includes recipes and detailed product stories.

Get your last minute Father's Day gift at the Mantry!

10 Ways to Save on Gadgets for Dad

fathers day giftsIf a new gadget is on your shopping list for dad this year, you aren't alone. According to the National Retail Federation's 2014 Father's Day Spending Survey, consumers will spend $1.6 billion on electronic gifts like smartphones and tablets for their fathers.

While a new gadget may send Dad over the top, it can quickly do the same to your budget if you're not careful. Consider these 10 ways to save on tech gifts for Father's Day and show your favorite man how much he's appreciated.

Haggle. Retailers have realized that consumers are driven by bargains these days and more are willing to negotiate. A recent study by Consumer Reports shows shoppers who haggled saved an average of $82, so clearly there's little to lose by just asking. If the sales associate isn't able to budge on the price of the gadget, ask if he or she can throw in a value add like a protective case for that new tablet or smartphone.

Snag a daily deal. Before you buy anything online, browse daily deal offers available through popular discount electronic e-retailers like TigerDirect, Newegg and Overstock. Recently, I saved 70-percent on a keyboard case for my iPad Mini through Tiger Direct's Daily Deal Slasher. I've found other notable deals across the Web on everything from TVs to tablets to gadget accessories. Sign up to the site's newsletter so you don't miss out on these huge discounts.

Power up your smartphone. Retailers are highly competitive and will match other stores' prices, so equip your smartphone with the PriceGrabber app to get instant price comparisons and request price matches. Before you check out, look for coupons on the free Coupon Sherpa mobile app, or hit up their website for coupon codes when you shop online. For example, you can save $12 off your $99 order from Brookstone through August.

Skip the warranty. One of the biggest upsells at any electronic store is the extended warranty. Considering that most gadgets have a rapid depreciation value and often cheaper to replace than fix, warranties end up being a waste of money. Instead, swipe a credit card that offers multiple levels of consumer protection including an extended warranties and return policy.

Discount the discount. So you scored a great deal on a sale item or even redeemed a coupon for dollars off your purchase? Don't stop there. You can save even more by applying funds from a discount gift card. At sites like, you can find up to 20-percent off gift cards to popular electronics retailers. For instance, score a Radio Shack gift card for 15-percent off and save on a gadget for Dad like the AUVIO Portable Bluetooth Speaker.

Buy last year's model. Manufacturers are constantly releasing new models of their latest gadgets, often with minimal updates. The latest gadget on shelves today will be old news next month, so it doesn't make sense to splurge on the newest options. Instead, search for deals on previous models or even go as far back as last year's model to save big. Many stores will be more motivated to move these older goods which means you may have more power to negotiate a better price, too.

Search for open box. Many electronic retailers sell returned gadgets at a discount even though there are no defective issues with it. You can often find such deals through the store's "open box" section to save anywhere from 20 to 60 percent off the regular list price. Get a head start by reviewing open box and clearance items online at sites like Best Buy where they list deals at the store closest to you. When buying a gadget for Dad, make sure it's something he wants and will actually use; otherwise, you may get slapped with restocking fees for any returns, especially for those products that have been opened.

Get the extras online. Nearly every gadget calls for something extra, whether it's a protective case, power cords or connector cables. Though the retailer may have extended a big discount on your electronic purchase, you typically won't find any savings on accessories. I always find the extras online via Amazon and eBay for 30 to 50 percent less, so avoid buying them at big-box stores.

Spruce up his favorite gadget. If Dad recently upgraded his TV or smartphone, consider sprucing up his favorite new gadget with a few extras like wireless speakers, bluetooth headset or a cool new case. Since these tend to be less expensive than this bigger electronics, it's a great way to give him something he will enjoy using without breaking your budget.

Cash in. Whether it's a genuine effort to reduce waste in landfills or just an attempt to get customers to upgrade sooner, electronics retailers are increasingly offering exchange programs. From Walmart to Amazon, you can trade in your old gadgets for cash or gift cards good toward new purchases. If you have an old cellphone, video game console or desktop you no longer use, cash in via one of these electronics trade-in programs and use the funds toward a new gadget for your dad.

The Best Lip Care Items

Taking care of your lips is important. The changes in the weather, the sun's harmful rays and more can affect your lip health. Since the skin on your lips is so thin it's vital to keep them moisturized. My lips often get chapped with the severe changes in weather in Maine, so I have learned which products work and which do not. These are my go-to lip care items when my lips are badly chapped:

Carmex Lip Moisturizing Original Balm in the tube is my first go-to lip care item. I call it my lip gloss. It not only moisturizes my lips, but also makes them look great.  It moisturizes my lips effectively and I can use it often. While it's on it prevents chapping. I always have a tube in my makeup bag. The Carmex Moisture Plus also works well.

Nivea Kiss of Mint and Minerals Lip Care is my second go-to lip balm. This one works when nothing else will. When my lips were so chapped they were cracked all over due to the long winter we had here in Maine, this is the lip balm that soothed and moisturized them. Nothing else worked.

Next up is Aquaphor Lip Repair + Protect Lip Balm with Sunscreen. This one moisturizes and protects lips from UVA and UVB rays and is especially formulated for sensitive lips.

All of these lip care products work for me. Keep your lips moisturized and protected, especially from the sun. All lip care items should have SPF in them to protect your lips from the sun's harmful rays.

What's your go-to lip care product?
